The HK416 originated from the research made by HK in the beginning of the 21st century to try and achieve a more reliable AR-15/M4 platform, through the adaptation of the G36’s short-stroke piston system to the M4 platform, which instead uses a direct-impingement system. It is however, more expensive to produce and heavier than the original M4.
This version by Tokyo Marui is without a doubt, the most realistic version out there on the market in AEG form. It is a recoil shock version with blowback – not just for looks, in this case, it actually gives some kick! The Delta is a black-coloured version with a rail copying the Geissele style.
The gun has an extremely detailed and well produced full metal body. It also has a functioning bolt-stop, so the gun will stop firing after the last shot is fired.
It requires however proprietary magazines for the recoil shock series (due to the functioning bolt-stop).
